6d. PF – Conflicts of Interest in the Management of Private Funds (intermediate)

Both open-end and closed-end alternative funds give rise to actual or potential conflicts of interest.  The tools to manage these conflicts differ but overlap.  This program will use case studies to analyze conflicts such as: (1) a hedge fund manager with two open-end funds with partially overlapping investment strategies (2) a private equity manager with two funds, one that is closed and one considering investing in securities where a material position is held by the other fund. This session is open to regulators but closed to members of the press.
