9a. ALL - Incident Response Plan - Remediation and Reporting of a Breach (Intermediate)
When a cyber or data breach occurs, whether involving electronically stored information or otherwise, firms need to quickly identify the problem and address the issues. Participants will learn to identify the appropriate steps to efficiently investigate a breach, determine when to involve external resources, and offer ways to remediate the problem to reduce reputational harm, potential litigation and/or adverse regulatory consequences. Firms also may be subject to mandatory reporting obligations. Speakers will also engage participants with case studies and group discussions focusing on ways to manage cybersecurity challenges, including steps to take when there is a breach. This session is open to regulators but closed to members of the press.
